Ingredients
For the rosemary syrup
- 1¼ cups (300 mL) water
- 7 oz (200 g) raw cane sugar
- 1 oz (30 g) rosemary
Preparation
For the rosemary syrup
Step 1
Heat water and sugar in a pot. Simmer for a few minutes until the sugar has dissolved. Stir again and again. Remove the pot from the heat.
Step 2
Completely submerge the rosemary sprigs in the syrup. Let steep, covered, at room temperature for 6-8 hours.
Step 3
Remove the rosemary and bottle the syrup. Store in the refrigerator and consume within two weeks.
Tip: The syrup tastes great in cocktails or soft drinks. For example, pour 0.68-1.35 fl oz (2-4 cl) of syrup and the juice of half a lemon into a glass. Fill up with ice cubes and cold mineral water. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a sprig of rosemary and enjoy cold.
Lovingly packaged and with beautiful labels, the rosemary syrup is perfect as a small gift or nice souvenir.
