Shipping policy
This Shipping Policy explains how orders placed through Peppery Spot are processed, dispatched and delivered.
It should be read together with our Terms of Service, Return and Refund Policy and Delivery Information.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.
1. SHIPPING DESTINATIONS
Peppery Spot ships internationally to destinations for which a delivery option is made available through our online store.
Because available destinations, shipping methods, weight limits, transit times and shipping charges may vary by country and shipment characteristics, the current information shown at checkout and on our Delivery Information page applies:
https://pepperyspot.com/pages/delivery-information
The availability of a country or region in the address selector does not necessarily guarantee that every address within that territory can be serviced.
2. SHIPPING PARTNERS
Peppery Spot works with established international courier companies, including:
- FedEx;
- UPS;
- GLS; and
- DPD.
FedEx is currently our primary international courier partner.
The courier used for a particular shipment may depend on the destination, parcel characteristics, available service, operational requirements and other relevant circumstances.
Peppery Spot reserves the right to select the appropriate carrier and service for an order unless a specific shipping service has expressly been offered and selected during checkout.
3. ORDER PROCESSING TIME
Orders are generally processed within 1–2 business days.
Processing time is separate from the estimated courier transit time.
Processing includes activities such as payment and order checks, product allocation, picking, packing, shipment preparation and arranging collection by the courier.
Orders are not normally handed over to couriers on weekends or Hungarian public holidays, as standard parcel collection services are not available on those days.
Orders placed shortly before or during weekends, public holidays or periods of unusually high order volume may therefore begin processing on the next available business day.
4. ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME
Unless otherwise stated for a particular destination or service, the estimated transit time shown in our Delivery Information is generally 3–5 business days after the parcel has been handed over to the courier.
This transit estimate does not include the 1–2 business day order processing period.
All delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed delivery dates.
Courier companies do not guarantee that every international shipment will arrive within an estimated transit window.
Actual delivery times may be affected by circumstances including:
- courier operations;
- customs clearance;
- security inspections;
- weather conditions;
- transportation disruptions;
- public holidays;
- strikes;
- remote-area handling;
- local delivery conditions; or
- other circumstances outside Peppery Spot's reasonable control.
Mandatory statutory delivery rights remain unaffected.
5. TRACKING
All Peppery Spot shipments include tracking.
Once the shipment has been prepared and a tracking number has been generated, the tracking information is sent to the email address provided with the order.
Customers are responsible for providing a correct and accessible email address and for checking communications relating to their shipment, including spam or filtered folders where appropriate.
The customer is expected to monitor the tracking information throughout the delivery process.
Tracking may provide information including:
- shipment progress;
- expected delivery date;
- estimated delivery time window;
- failed delivery attempts;
- collection instructions; and
- other courier notifications.
The temporary absence of a tracking update does not necessarily mean that a shipment is lost.
6. DELIVERY ADDRESS
Customers are responsible for providing a complete, accurate and deliverable shipping address when placing an order.
Before submitting an order, please carefully verify:
- recipient's full name;
- street name;
- house or building number;
- apartment, unit or other required address details;
- postal code;
- city;
- country;
- telephone number; and
- email address.
Due to the number of orders we process, Peppery Spot cannot undertake to individually verify, correct or request missing address information for every order.
If an address appears incomplete, incorrect, contradictory or unsuitable for courier delivery, Peppery Spot may reject or cancel the order rather than request additional information from the customer.
7. PO BOXES
Peppery Spot provides door-to-door courier delivery only.
We do not ship to:
- PO Boxes;
- postal collection boxes; or
- equivalent postal addresses.
Entering a PO Box using alternative formatting, abbreviations, additional characters or another method does not make the address eligible for delivery.
Orders addressed to a PO Box or equivalent location may be rejected or cancelled.
8. ADDRESS CHANGES AFTER ORDERING
Customers should contact Peppery Spot as soon as possible if they notice an error in their delivery information.
We will make reasonable efforts to correct an address where operationally possible, but modifications cannot be guaranteed once order processing has progressed.
Once a tracking number has been generated and the shipment has entered the courier's processing system, Peppery Spot can no longer guarantee modification of the delivery address or cancellation of the shipment.
For this reason, customers should carefully check all delivery information before completing checkout.
9. REMOTE AND SPECIAL DELIVERY AREAS
Courier companies may classify particular:
- postal codes;
- islands;
- rural areas;
- geographically isolated locations; or
- other destinations
as remote, extended or special service areas and may apply additional surcharges.
These classifications are determined entirely by the relevant courier and may change at any time.
Peppery Spot does not maintain or control the couriers' complete remote-area databases and therefore cannot guarantee that every remote-area classification will be identified automatically during checkout.
If a courier identifies the customer's address as subject to an additional remote-area or similar surcharge after the order has been placed but before dispatch, Peppery Spot may place the shipment on hold and contact the customer by email.
Where applicable, an invoice for the additional delivery charge will be sent to the email address provided with the order.
The customer may then:
- pay the additional delivery charge; or
- request cancellation of the affected order if the shipment has not yet been dispatched.
Peppery Spot is not required to provide delivery at the original standard shipping rate where that service is not actually available for the customer's address under the courier's applicable classification.
10. CUSTOMS, IMPORT DUTIES AND TAXES
For shipments outside the European Union, the destination country's customs and import rules apply.
Depending on the destination, the recipient may be required to pay charges including:
- customs duties;
- import VAT or other import taxes;
- customs clearance fees;
- brokerage or disbursement fees;
- administrative charges; or
- other charges imposed by customs authorities, governments or carriers.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, these charges are not included in Peppery Spot's product prices or shipping charges.
The recipient is responsible for all applicable import-related charges.
Customers are responsible for checking the import rules and restrictions applicable in their destination country before placing an order.
11. REFUSAL TO PAY CUSTOMS OR IMPORT CHARGES
If the recipient refuses or fails to pay customs duties, import taxes, clearance fees or other charges required for delivery, the shipment may be:
- held by customs or the courier;
- returned to Peppery Spot;
- abandoned;
- destroyed; or
- otherwise handled according to the rules of the relevant authority or carrier.
Where such circumstances result from the customer's failure or refusal to comply with applicable import requirements, Peppery Spot reserves the right, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to recover or deduct any resulting costs and losses.
These may include:
- original outbound shipping charges;
- return transportation;
- customs-related charges;
- courier surcharges;
- storage charges;
- handling fees; and
- other costs directly resulting from the customer's failure to complete the import or delivery process.
Any amount Peppery Spot is legally entitled to recover may be deducted from amounts otherwise repayable to the customer.
12. CUSTOMS DELAYS
Customs clearance times are outside Peppery Spot's direct control.
International shipments may be delayed while customs authorities:
- inspect a parcel;
- verify documentation;
- assess duties or taxes;
- request information from the recipient; or
- complete other import procedures.
Peppery Spot cannot guarantee a delivery date where a shipment is subject to customs processing.
Customers should respond promptly to reasonable requests from customs authorities or the courier where additional information or payment is required for clearance.
13. CUSTOMER AVAILABILITY FOR DELIVERY
Customers are responsible for taking reasonable steps to ensure that delivery can be completed successfully.
Where tracking information shows an expected delivery date or delivery window, the customer should ensure that:
- the recipient is available;
- another authorised person can accept the parcel; or
- another delivery arrangement accepted by the courier has been made.
If the customer cannot be present, the customer is responsible for following any delivery management options made available by the courier.
These may include rescheduling delivery, authorising another recipient or arranging collection where supported by the courier.
14. FAILED DELIVERY AND UNCOLLECTED SHIPMENTS
Failure to accept, collect or facilitate delivery does not by itself constitute a valid exercise of a statutory right of withdrawal.
Where a shipment cannot be delivered or is returned because of circumstances attributable to the customer, including:
- refusal to accept delivery;
- repeated failed delivery attempts;
- failure to collect a parcel;
- failure to follow courier instructions;
- failure to contact the courier where action is required;
- incorrect or incomplete delivery information;
- an inaccessible delivery location;
- failure to provide information required for delivery or customs clearance; or
- another avoidable circumstance attributable to the recipient,
Peppery Spot reserves the right, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, to recover or deduct the actual costs and losses arising from the unsuccessful delivery.
These may include:
- outbound shipping costs;
- return transportation;
- carrier surcharges;
- storage charges;
- customs-related expenses;
- handling charges; and
- other costs directly caused by the failed delivery.
Any amount Peppery Spot is legally entitled to recover may be deducted from amounts otherwise repayable to the customer.
This does not limit mandatory consumer rights where the failure to deliver is attributable to Peppery Spot or where the customer has validly exercised a statutory right.
15. SPLIT SHIPMENTS
Peppery Spot may, where reasonably necessary, divide a single order into two or more shipments.
This may occur for operational, packaging, weight, carrier or logistical reasons.
Where Peppery Spot decides to split an order, the customer will not be charged an additional shipping fee solely because the order has been divided into multiple parcels, unless an additional service or charge has been separately agreed with the customer.
Different parcels belonging to the same order may:
- receive separate tracking numbers; and
- arrive on different days.
16. DAMAGED PARCELS
If a parcel appears visibly damaged at the time of delivery, customers are encouraged, where reasonably possible, to:
- photograph the external packaging before opening it;
- retain the damaged packaging;
- photograph any damaged products; and
- contact Peppery Spot promptly.
Photographs and packaging information can assist us when investigating a claim with the courier.
Failure to photograph a parcel at the time of delivery does not automatically remove any mandatory rights available under applicable law.
Claims relating to damaged or non-conforming products are handled in accordance with our Return and Refund Policy.
17. LOST SHIPMENTS
If a shipment appears to be lost, Peppery Spot may open an investigation with the relevant courier.
A shipment is not considered lost solely because:
- delivery is delayed;
- the estimated delivery date has passed; or
- tracking has temporarily stopped updating.
Where a shipment is confirmed as lost and cannot be recovered or successfully delivered, the matter will be resolved in accordance with our Return and Refund Policy and applicable law.
18. SHIPPING PRICES AND DELIVERY INFORMATION
Shipping charges may depend on factors including:
- destination country;
- parcel weight;
- parcel dimensions;
- selected service;
- carrier pricing;
- remote-area classification; and
- other operational factors.
Because shipping prices and courier conditions may change, the most current country-specific shipping information is provided through checkout and our Delivery Information page:
https://pepperyspot.com/pages/delivery-information
The shipping charge shown for an order at checkout applies subject to any remote-area or special-service surcharge that could not reasonably be identified during checkout.
19. WEEKENDS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS
Business-day estimates do not include weekends or applicable public holidays.
Peppery Spot does not normally schedule standard courier collections on weekends or Hungarian public holidays.
Courier operations in the destination country may also be affected by local weekends, holidays and other non-working days.
Such days are not included when referring to estimated delivery times expressed in business days.
20. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
International delivery may be affected by events outside Peppery Spot's reasonable control, including:
- severe weather;
- natural disasters;
- transportation disruption;
- strikes;
- border restrictions;
- customs action;
- government measures;
- security incidents;
- courier network disruption; or
- other exceptional circumstances.
Peppery Spot will not be responsible for delays caused solely by such circumstances to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
