Make peeling yourself
If you’re a fan of natural products, you can lend a hand with exfoliation yourself – facial or body scrubs are quick to make yourself. Learn how to do it.
The wonderful effect of peelings: what types are there?
Our skin renews itself about every 28 days, which ensures that old skin flakes fall off. To help the skin get rid of these flakes, and thus pave the way for new skin cells to come to the surface, peels are extremely practical. Why else do we want to remove old skin flakes? Because it can clog pores and cause pimples. Exfoliation gently removes dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, unclogging pores and helping the skin in the regeneration process. Vitalizing peelings additionally refresh your own complexion.
Which peeling suits which skin type
Depending on the skin type, different types of peelings are recommended. So, before you mix natural products together and make your own peeling, we would like to inform you a bit about this popular method of refreshing and cleansing the complexion. On the one hand, there are manual (physical) peelings, which remove skin flakes and dirt by rubbing the coarse-grained particles on the skin. On the other hand, there are chemical peels, in which the chemical interaction of various acids naturally helps the skin to get rid of dead cell layers and stimulate cell renewal. A chemical peel can often be gentler than a manual one.
TIP: If you tend to have inflammatory acne, sensitive skin or rosacea, you should avoid manual or physical peels. Oily skin, combination skin or dry skin, on the other hand, can benefit from manual exfoliation.
DIY: Make fantastic face & body scrubs yourself with these home remedies.
To make manual peels yourself, you first need something granular with which to rub off the old cells. Furthermore, you need something nourishing, such as olive oil, coconut oil or honey to moisturize the skin.
When choosing the “rough” in your homemade scrub, let your imagination run wild: sea salt, table salt, sugar, oatmeal, coconut flakes or coffee – all these are good ingredients for a scrub. Somewhat gentler effects are said to come from table salt instead of sea salt or granulated sugar instead of brown sugar. Generally speaking, though, salt can be especially good for blemished skin, while sugar is said to be ideal for dry skin. Coffee scrubs, on the other hand, are said to work specifically on cellulite, while olive oil-sugar scrubs are said to conjure up soft feet and tender lips.
